Racks of linen shorts, gauzy sundresses, crop tops in citrus hues. She gravitated to a hanger draped with a slip dress, the fabric sheer enough to tease the swallow’s shadow beneath. Sandals with crisscross straps. A wide-brimmed hat to let the tattoo peek through when she tilted her head just so. Dressing rooms became a ritual: twirl in the mirror, adjust the neckline, smirk at the way summer clung to her now, restless and radiant.
