Unusually large ears swiveled like satellite dishes, catching sounds beyond human hearing: the rustle of a spider descending its silk, the grind of a hidden mechanism stirring to life three chambers over. This creature was no background prop. Its matted fur bore faint glyph-like markings that shimmered when it passed through moonlight shafts, and a crudely braided cord around its neck held a rusted key small enough to fit a dollhouse lock. As it vanished into a crack in the wall, the faintest squeak echoed with peculiar cadence—almost melodic, as if repeating the dungeon's forgotten lullaby.
