In Tetris, players face a screen filled with descending geometric blocks called tetrominoes—each composed of four connected squares. These pieces can be rotated or shifted side-to-side as they drop, challenging players to slot them into position and assemble solid horizontal lines without gaps. Successfully completing a line causes it to vanish, racking up points and creating space for more blocks. The pace intensifies steadily, with tetrominoes falling faster as the game advances, demanding quicker decisions and precise placements. To survive, players must balance speed and foresight, clearing lines efficiently before the screen overflows, ending the game.
