Shisen-sho is a strategic tile-matching puzzle where players clear the board by eliminating pairs of identical mahjong tiles under specific conditions. Unlike traditional mahjong, tiles can only be removed if connected by a path with no more than two directional changes or positioned along unobstructed horizontal/vertical lines. The challenge lies in planning ahead, as poor choices can block remaining tiles. Quick thinking and spatial awareness are key to mastering its deceptively simple mechanics. With escalating difficulty and endless layouts, it’s easy to lose track of time chasing that satisfying click of the final pair disappearing.
