The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the ancient forest as Aria tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword. Her breath fogged in the chill air, every sense alert to the rustle of unseen creatures. "Stay close," she whispered to Kael, her companion, whose amber eyes glowed faintly in the dim light. They moved silently through the undergrowth, the weight of their mission pressing heavier than the armor on their backs. Legends spoke of a relic hidden deep within these woods—a shard of the shattered Starforge, capable of reigniting dying worlds. But the forest guarded its secrets fiercely; twisted roots snaked across their path, and whispers of old magic hummed through the trees. A sudden howl pierced the stillness, followed by the clatter of bone against stone. Aria's pulse quickened as skeletal figures emerged from the gloom, their hollow eyes burning with malevolent light. "Now!" she barked, lunging forward. Steel met ancient bone in a shower of sparks, Kael's arrows slicing the air beside her. Each strike brought them closer to the clearing where the relic was said to rest—but the forest itself seemed to resist, vines lashing like serpents and the ground shifting beneath their feet. As the last skeleton crumbled, Aria glimpsed a faint blue glow ahead. Hope flared, sharp and urgent. They were running out of time.
